Mallet

I have a mallet,
It is small,
It is light-weight,
It is wondeful.
It's simplicity is to be admired.
If it were taken apart,
It would only be a strip of leather
Rolled tightly and nailed to itself.
Add to that a wooden handle,
And you have a simple striking tool.
In a desperate situation,
It could be used as a weapon.
A weapon that I find to be more magnificent
Then the bombs, guns, or artillery
Of the modern militaries of the world.
It is not as destrucvtive as some of the other
weapons,
But it is a beuty to behold.
It's simplicity is magnificent,
A fact that can't be said enough,
Nothing is as satisfying as seeing it thrown through the air
Just before it stirkes it's target.
It is a privelage to be able to wield such a tool.
